Hurry! If you still have some free days in January, hurry to Paris and visit Edward Hopper's exposition in the Grand Palais. I was quite skeptical to go to the expo, and the first works I saw
confirmed my skepticism.
But the further I went, and the more in depth I looked, the more attracted I became. His etchings are so well done, his watercolours perfect and then the oilpaintings: fascinating!
Every painting is like a still of a movie and at the same moment it tells a complete story. Although different for everyone, it will always be a tale of America, isolation, tension and light.
Hopper's oeuvre turns you into a film producer, giving you a painting as a film script. Edward Hopper is more than a 'Nighthawk'.
